about
this is a song that I have been performing for many years now. I'm pretty bad with releasing stuff, I write a lot but my perfectionist tendencies get the best of me and I'm afraid to share with the world. Well, here it is finally. This song can mean whatever you want it to mean. Is it just about a girl named Mary? I'll give you a hint, I wrote this song before I ever had a relationship with a girl, so it was pretty much science fiction to me when I wrote this. I first came up with the riff around 2013 and made the first demo in 2016. Thanks for listening.
lyrics
Oh Mary, I should have known
That all I'd ever want to be, was without you
I should have known
that every single time, was cause of you
Oh, I should have known
Oh, I should have known
So scary, the things she's shown,
when all I'd ever really need, was a deep snooze
but when I woke, every single time
I was rebuked, oh, I should have known
Oh, I should have known
Well the things that she said made me feel almost dead
And baby that was hard enough
I'm breaking us up because you were too rough
So very, so very long
Since our accord began it's tough to rid of you
But now I'm strong, and though it's taken time, I feel brand new
Oh, I should have known
Oh, I should have known
On occasion, I'll see you round
With friends and then I'm tempted to reassemble
Our liaison, but I won't repeat mistakes, cause now I know
Oh, I should have known
Oh, I should have known
Well the things that she said made me feel almost dead
And baby that was hard enough
I'm breaking us up because you were too rough
All these different things, that make me think of you
The memories that we made, make me feel so blue
And before you know it the rumors have become true
